PENINSULA COLLEGE
For more than 40 years, Peninsula College has served has provided education to thousands of students from Clallam and Jefferson Counties as well as from Alaska, Idaho, Nevada, California and from as far away as Africa, China, Japan and South America. These students come from a wide array of backgrounds and financial circumstances.
FOUNDATION
Due to declining funding from the state for the college the Peninsula College Foundation, a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization was established. Since 1996, the Foundation Board has helped support the college by funding program support, scholarships, faculty and staff grants and cultural events. This funding was made possible through the generosity of people like you. Here is how you can help.
MISSION
“The Peninsula College Foundation will strive to secure philanthropic and external sources of support for students, faculty, staff and programs in support of the college’s mission.”
Since its inception in 1996, the Foundation has raised endowment funds of over $1.5 million and contributed over $380,000 last year to the college to support the following initiatives:
• Student Scholarships
• Exceptional Faculty Awards
• Faculty & Staff Enrichment Grants
• College Programs
• Grants for equipment and resources
• Athletic Programs
• Student Emergency Loan Funds
• Community Leadership
The Foundation works to raise funds for the college in ways that are unique and that provide enrichment to the cultural life of the regional community through special events.
The Foundation is dedicated to helping Peninsula College:
• Attract and retain faculty of the highest caliber.
• Support the learning process with state-of-the art technology, library, and media resources.
• Develop new college programs
• Develop capacity for delivering baccalaureate and graduate degrees
• Expand international student and faculty exchange programs
• Preserve and enhance classroom environments that foster one-on-one faculty/student exchanges
• Invest in leaders who possess a strong desire to overcome the challenges facing their communities.
Through a number of special events, most notably the signature American Conversations series, the Foundation works to raise funds for the college in ways that are unique and that provide enrichment to the cultural life of the regional community.
